1. Who we are and what this covers
ZENLYF LTD, a company registered in Nigeria (RC 8867229), decides how your personal data is used for the Zenlyf website (zenlyf.io), the Zenlyf app, the Zenlyf Ring, the Zenlyf WhatsApp assistant, Zenlyf Link and our plans (“Zenlyf”, “we”, “us”). Our affiliates ZEN LYF Inc. (United States) and ZENLYF LTD (United Kingdom) help us provide them. We process personal data under Nigerian data protection law.
Health information is sensitive, and we treat it that way. This page says what we collect, why, who receives it, how long we keep it and what you can do. It sits alongside our Terms of Service and Cookie Policy.
Hospitals and clinics that use Zenlyf’s workspace keep their own records about you. When you link your account to one through Zenlyf Link, that organisation is responsible for what it holds, under its own policies and the law. It is a separate organisation from Zenlyf.
2. What we collect
You give us
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number, country, password and your Zenlyf ID. Other profile details you choose to add, such as date of birth.
- Health and wellness information you enter: medications and reminders, symptoms, mood and readings you log by hand, and documents you upload, such as medical records or lab results.
- Your emergency contacts (name, phone, email) and the people you invite to your care circle, with what you choose to share with each.
- Messages you send to the Zenlyf AI companion in the app, and your answers to questions it asks.
- Orders and delivery: your name, phone, email and delivery address, what you ordered, and a discount or friend code if you use one.
- Your email address if you ask to be told when pre-orders open.
- If you use referrals: your personal code, the people who joined with it and what you earned. If you ask for a payout when payouts open, your bank account details.
From your ring and phone
- Readings from your Zenlyf Ring: heart rate, heart-rate variability, blood oxygen, skin temperature, sleep and movement, with the time of each.
- Safety events: when you press SOS, and when a fall check runs and what you answered.
- Your last known location when you press SOS. It goes into your alert only if you allowed that. If you use GPS tracking for a walk or run, we also keep the route you record.
- Technical records of fall checks: numbers from your phone’s motion sensors, the check’s result and your answer. They contain no location and no free text. We delete them after 180 days.
- Technical information about your device and app, such as the phone model, system version and app version.
When you use WhatsApp
When you message the Zenlyf WhatsApp number, we receive your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name and the content of your messages: text, voice notes and photos or documents you send. We keep the conversation as part of your Zenlyf chat history. Your messages travel through WhatsApp (Meta) and our messaging provider. We send the sign-in code for WhatsApp to your email address, never into the chat.
When you phone Zenlyf
When you call the Zenlyf phone line, our voice assistant Enola answers. We receive your phone number and the words of the call, which we transcribe and keep as text. If you gave a code to be recognised as a member, the call is linked to your account and what you say may include health information. We keep the transcript for 90 days and then delete it. A short written summary of the call, the number, the time and the outcome stay in our call log so the team can follow up. Calls are not recorded as audio unless we say so at the start of the call.
When you pay
Payments are made through Paystack. We receive the payment status, the amount, a reference and, for a card, the type and last four digits. We never see or store your full card number. If you choose to save a card for plan renewals, we keep the token Paystack gives us, encrypted, not the card.
On this website
The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. If you track an order or open your referral dashboard, your browser keeps a sign-in or tracking code for that tab only, and it is gone when you close the tab. Our servers and hosting providers keep standard technical logs, such as your IP address and the pages requested, to run and secure the service.
3. Why we use it
- To give you Zenlyf: show your readings, run reminders, keep your account, process orders and deliveries, take payments and give you support.
- To keep you safe: run fall checks and SOS, and alert the people you chose, as described on our safety page.
- To answer you: the AI companion and the WhatsApp assistant use your messages, and information from your account that you have shared with them, to reply.
- To keep Zenlyf secure and fair: prevent fraud, abuse and misuse of codes and rewards, and find and fix faults.
- To improve our service: understand how the app is used, and tune safety checks, using de-identified or combined information where we can.
- To follow the law: tax and accounting rules, consumer law, and requests from authorities where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your health data for advertising.
4. AI
The AI companion and the WhatsApp assistant send your message, and the account information needed to answer it, to an AI model run by a provider for us. The main provider is Amazon Bedrock (Amazon Web Services), in the AWS region in Stockholm. Voice features, turning your voice notes into text and reading photos you send on WhatsApp use OpenAI, which is based in the United States. AI answers can be wrong or out of date, and they are not medical advice. The app lets you see and delete what the AI remembers about you (Settings, “What Zenlyf AI remembers”).
5. Who receives your data
- The people you choose. Your emergency contacts and care circle see only what you share and what an alert contains, and only after they accept your invitation.
- Hospitals and clinics you link through Zenlyf Link, under their own policies.
- Providers who work for us, under contract and only for what we ask of them: Amazon Web Services (hosting and storage, in Stockholm, and the Bedrock AI service); Meta (WhatsApp); Twilio (SMS, phone calls, video visits and delivering WhatsApp messages); Paystack (payments); Zoho (email); Expo, Apple and Google (push notifications, which we keep free of health detail); OpenAI (voice and image features); Google (maps and place search); and couriers, who get your name, phone number and delivery address to deliver your ring.
- Others, only where the law requires it, such as a court or regulator, or in a sale or merger of our business, with the same protections.
6. Where your data is
Zenlyf stores your data with Amazon Web Services in Stockholm, Sweden. Some providers above are in the United States or other countries, so your data can leave Nigeria. We use providers that agree to protect it, and we share only what each one needs.
7. How long we keep it
- We keep your data while your account is open, so Zenlyf can work for you.
- When you delete your account, it is closed at once and your name, contact details and password are removed from it. The rest of your data is deleted later, on a schedule, apart from what we have to keep. What happens, what we keep and how to ask for uploaded files to be erased are on our delete account page.
- We may have to keep a small amount after that where the law requires it, such as payment and tax records, or to keep security and fraud logs. We keep only what is necessary and keep it secure.
- Technical records of fall checks are deleted after 180 days.
- The transcript of a call to the Zenlyf phone line is deleted after 90 days.
- Records a hospital or clinic creates in its own workspace are kept under that organisation’s duties, not ours.
8. Keeping it safe
Who can see what is enforced on our servers, not just hidden on the screen. Access to personal data is limited, and changes made by our staff in our admin tools are recorded in an audit log. Traffic between the app or website and our servers is encrypted. We never see your full card number. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your password, codes and phone safe, and tell us at once if you think someone else has access to your account.
9. Your choices and rights
You can:
- See and correct your details in the app, and ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you. The app has an “Export my data” option under Privacy & data.
- Delete your account and data, as described on the delete account page.
- Control sharing: change what each person in your care circle sees, or remove them, at any time. Turn fall checks off in the app’s settings. Switch the AI’s memory off.
- Object or ask us to limit how we use your data, and ask for it in a format you can move elsewhere, where the law gives you that right.
- Stop emails: use the unsubscribe link in our update emails, or tell us. We email people on the pre-order notify list only about pre-orders.
- Complain to us first, and to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission if you are not happy with our answer.
Write to support@zenlyf.io, or message us on WhatsApp at +1 971-385-6978. We may need to confirm who you are before we act. The law sets how fast we must answer, and we aim to reply within 7 business days.
10. Children
Zenlyf is for people aged 18 or over. If you are under 18, please do not create an account or order a ring. If you think a child has given us their information, tell us and we will delete it.
11. Cookies
The website sets no cookies. See the Cookie Policy.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. For changes that matter we will tell you by email or in the app before they apply, and we always change the date at the top of this page.
